Geneva Lake Manor's response to COVID

If you read the local paper a while back, you would think we turned a blind eye to COVID-19 and the threat it posed. But the opposite was and remains true. When the threats were first realized at the beginning of March, we reacted on a daily basis to mandates from state, local and federal health departments including the CDC and CMS. Our management company, Carriage Healthcare (CHC), created a COVID-19 task force on our behalf. Their team, with over 80 years of combined long term care management experience, combed through hundreds of pages of documents on infection control protocols, guidelines and best practices that changed and evolved rapidly in response to the pandemic. Updates from the CHC task force team came every day, each with new or adjusted rules for resident care, screening for staff and residents, visitation rules and limits, PPE protocols, and other guidelines related to the care and protection of our residents during COVID-19. These concentrated efforts were all in an attempt to protect our residents and staff as fully as possible. Although it was impossible to keep it out of our facility, we are appreciative of the efforts of our entire staff for their dedication to residents, the guidance of our management team, and the patience of residents and families who've endured a truly difficult time. We're also appreciative of those who understand the measures we've taken over recent months and the seriousness with which Geneva Lake Manor staff responded to the pandemic.
